Concentration Camp Buchenwald | Documentary
WARNING!!!
This video contains REAL footage of a concentration camp. You will see the reality of what happend during World War II. Some viewers may find the following video disturbing.

I decided to make this video without censoring anything in it! I want to show people the true horros of the war. Especially what happend in Buchenwald. I know it is not a "fun" video to watch. But it is necessary for giving people a better understanding on what actually happened there.

It's so touching and moving that the old man comes to hug the brothers' statue every day.
I have known survivors from Auschwitz , Buchenwald and Treblinka. I am amazed at the idiots who say that this never happened. I had the privilege to know these people who had survived the atrocities that the Nazis had perpetrated upon them and the story's that they told were horrific. All have passed now, but will always live in my memories.
I cant understand it aswell. Thats one of the reasons i made this video!
Sander this is a masterpiece!! Very well explained and shown in the best way possible, thanks to your edition skills.
A very hard watch but thanks for the video, we must never forget these people nor should we ever forget what the nazis did during their reign of terror....
I know this video is 3 years old, but im glad I found your channel! Good job!
@@tundranomad thank you! Really appreciate it! 🙏🏻
Thank you for this. My father was a captain in the 3rd Armored Division and often spoke about his time spent in the battle to capture Aachen. He took many pictures, including some of the hotel Quellenhof - shot up, but not destroyed. Naturally, it was quite a thrill form me to stay at the Hotel Quellenhof during my second or third trip to Germany. After helping capture Aacen, the 3rd AD moved on to Koln and beyond.
Oh my goodness. How many people have been hurt by unexploded shells in the years since the war?
@@MaylaJ. alot of people! Dont know the exact number...
Love seeing all these UA-camrs together. Also have always wondered how JD can walk and talk so well. Also great gunpowder demo. 👍🏻
@@MaylaJ. Thanks! Yeah he likes to call himself a monkey with a camera hahaha
I document my metaldetecting journeys on UA-cam on the former backlines of ww1 battlefields. It is stunning how much you can find even a few kilometers from the frontlines. Gives you an idea of how much is still in the ground.
Leuk video.
Hahahaha helemaal vol idd!
Very cool video, Sander! I like the finds. You, Marvel, and Shaun have found some awesome stuff, especially the lead balls and bullets and shell fragments. Haha glad that Chris was able to find a bullet later on. Good overview of the fighting on Delville Wood. That is a big shell by the tree. Helpful map. The Welsh memorial dragon is cool :). I haven't read much about the Boer War. I learned more from your video. Funny bloopers too lol. That is rough that they couldn't use the water. Interesting exhibit too. The items in there are well maintained. Whoa. Incredible how the tree is still around. Some more awesome relics too. It's cool how you found a shell. It's neat how you found a fuse too. Cool shell fragment finds. That's a lot of cemeteries. Sadly, it doesn't surprise me, given the huge death toll. Cool that a German milk glass was found also :). Glad everybody had a good time. It's awesome how there will be voiceovers from several UA-camrs :). Take care, Sander! :).
@@alex4833 thanks again Alex!
@@SandervkHistory Sure thing, Sander!
Why not use a metal detector? Would it be beeping constantly?
Yes, it would be beeping constantly even with iron discriminated out. There is just so much material in the ground it'd be difficult to distinguish individual targets.
No need for one. And indeed, it would beep constantly 😅
I decided to take a drink everytime Sander says "Shrapnel" I'm now smashed and ready to enter the spirit world to meet my ancestors.
Hahahaha i wanted to put a schrapnel counter in the corner but it was to much work 😅
Or what about when he says: “wow! Is that…..oh it’s nothing
@@HistoryWarCinema 😂😂
Toffe video Sander.

French lebel bullet tips. The shell was fired and not dangerous but you really should not have been walking that field as it was planted. The best time to field walk is winter no crops and lots of finds and not upsetting the farmers.
I understand what you are saying, if the farmer came and would tell us not to walk on his field we wouldve moved ofcourse. But we were not walking on the crops themselfs, but walking inbetween the plants. I know it doesnt make it right but we did not destroy any crops.
I'm from ontario, I had an ancestor earn the VC at the 2nd battle of ypres. He wrote a book called" merry hell a dane with the canadians"
Wow! I have to check that book out!
Can foreigners go and do this?
Everybody can do it!
Dude no way
I'm Welsh and my great grandfather fought in WW1. He voluteered at the very beginning at the age of 14 and was one of the very few first volunteers to return home. His son, my bamp, knows very little of his fathers time during the war because he never spoke of it. We now belive he had PTSD and was dealing with it alone and in silence.
Cant imagine fighting during WW1... every war is bad ofcourse but WW1 is a different animal!
the place takes a long time to finish ..but life ends easily
Great to see such a collaboration of UA-camrs all in one place. Great video.
Too much laughing on camera by some, a bit disrespectful but overall a good little series
Hey man! Thanks for comming back to my videos. I get what you mean. But in my opinion, you can have a laugh on former battlefields. In a cemetery it is a different story ofcourse. I bet the lads who fought over there want us to have fun while remembering them.
@@SandervkHistory There was a couple of occasions where some laughing was on cemeteries, but yes you’re right. I’m sure the lads over there want us to laugh and smile, but like I said apart from that it was a really good little series, and now I’m just waiting for the more in depth Arnhem video..😊👍🏻👍🏻
I was thinking that those sheep had a lot of balls to be grazing a minefield. I was literally right.
Have you ever tried flying your drone into one of the large craters?
Yess! That is some great footage
Great great grandfather was company sergeant major Peter Hogg in 2nd battalion seaforth highlanders and fought at the second battle of Ypres 1915 where he was injured he was also a prizewinning battalion shooting team member one of my uncles got a hold of his diary and it states how he once had to counter snipe a German sniper who was picking off British soldiers
What a waste of young men.Those 2 stupid wars.😢
My Gt Granddad is on the wall of the missing at Plorgstreet, he was in the 2bn Royal Berkshire Regiment.. KIA 9/5/1915, also about 20,000 were KIA on 1st July...
That cartridge might be for the Nagant revolver
You are probably right!
Great video, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Great stuff we'll done
Thanks!
I'm a new subscriber, and I really enjoyed watching so many of my favorite UA-cam historians all together.
My great great Uncle William Wilsahw is on that memorial !! Killed October 1st 1916 only 18 years old. 🇬🇧🌺
Wow thats crazy! Have you ever visit your Uncle?
Just a comment on the Newfoundland Regiment casualties. As appalling as they were, the 10th West Yorkshire's attacking Fricourt suffered the worst casualty rate on 1st July. Fantastic video from some of my favourite UA-camrs though.
If you look at the Malins film of the Lancashire Fusiliers, there is a mix of realisation of what is about to come from the Gallipoli veterans from the previous year and the sheer terror of those new recruits about to go over the top for the first time. Also the ones who seem to be laughing and smiling, they were the ones in reserve, the Stokes mortar teams.
Hey Sander, how are you? LOL hilarious clip with Chris at the beginning where you were being like a nature narrator. It's sad how so many (72,000) do not have a known grave :(. Lol I too would buy a lot of books there. The museum is great. The machine gun is well preserved. So is the shrapnel. So many lead balls too. The plane is cool! So many shell holes... I need to see your Somme documentary. Beautiful memorial. It's a huge monument too. It's sad and incredible how many names there are. The memorial is well maintained and beautiful, I agree. It's also staggering how many of the missing were from just four months of the war. LOL Marcel is funny :). The crater is huge. It's one of the biggest ones that I've seen on UA-cam. 60,000...Man. No wonder the crater is so huge. Excellent clip! I'd like to visit the church :). The empty chair is very powerful, I concur. It's understandable that they hesitated at first, but I can't imagine the horrors that they experienced. I second you. The memorial flag is great. Excellent information from Rob. It's great seeing the locations today and to see where the front lines were located (ti's very helpful, especially since I'm a visual learner). Powerful and excellent memorial for the Devonshires. I want to visit the Deveonshire Cemetery also. It's staggering to see so many graves from the first day. Rob gave helpful info. Chris' narration was superb. Moving piece. It hit my heart. So powerful. Very moving. I've heard it before, but it hits my heart each time... It's wonderful how Shawn/Sean (sp?) was able to find graves of troops from his hometown. Powerful cemetery. Wow, I didn't know Rob's great grandfather served in the Somme. Superb video. Kudos, Sander :). Take care.
Thanks man! Am loving your comments! 72.000 is indeed a crazy number!
@@SandervkHistory Anytime! I agree. it's staggering. Hard to process too. Hope you are having a nice start to the week.
They say the "battle of the bulge" was the big deal but really this battle was far worse..
Great series loving it
The Canadian Expeditionary Force: when you need to get the job done
Hey, Sander! Cool video. Sad how many of the troops in the footage would be killed w/in 24 hours of the filming. Helpful labeling of the video footage of the battlefield. Cool how Chris found part of a shell. Awesome how you found barbed wire. The finding of the nail is cool also. Do the local authorities do occasional searches for grenade fragments, unexploded ordinances, etc for safety? Great drone footage! Great info about the trenches. I didn't know about the danger tree. The info Chris provided and the footage are helpful. It's sad how there were 90% casualties. Makes sense to not allow entry into the red zones. I hope they haven't lost many sheep though. The cemetery is beautiful and looks well maintained. I def want to visit. It's awesome how you found multiple lead balls and grenade fragment. Nice find of the pole too. I am stoked for the relic hunting video 😊. Cool how Shawn (sp?) found many lead balls as well. Awesome find of the shell casing :) Cool find of the cartridges and grenade fragment also. Nice video! Have a wonderful week, Sander!
The farmers usually place what they find at certain spots besides the fields. And they are picked up at a regular basis by the department that’s handles the disposal. It’s best to leave that stuff alone as much we possible, which we did ofcourse 😂 You can see in my relic video that I made with Sander and the others, that we found a pretty big shell in a field. ua-cam.com/video/EVEu8MI6750/v-deo.htmlsi=8qeYIdcuRRV097n9
@@HistoryWarCinema That makes sense. Thank you for the info :) I agree that it's best to leave that stuff alone :). Thanks again for the info and link! I'll check out the video :)!
Awesome series Sander, I wounder how many sheep they lose walking around the red zones , looking forward to the artifact video, I can't imagine how crazy a metal detector would go searching those fields.
I talked to someone at Vimy Ridge while we were there on the trip and they said no sheep have been lost at Vimy😅. Guess it’s the same at this location, since they use the same sheep. Also I uploaded a relic hunting video to my channel, in which you can see Sander. That video is about what we found at one field, Sander did some searching elsewhere too. But it will give you a good indication on what you might find still. ua-cam.com/video/EVEu8MI6750/v-deo.htmlsi=8qeYIdcuRRV097n9
My father was an American soldier involved in this battle.Thank you for your video!
I'd be on edge Ploughing in those fields, 💥
The farmers have a steel plate under the seat of their tractors. To prevent their balls from being blown off. Really!
@@adriaanvankammen8375 🤣 🤣 that's mad
Yes Papa VK is correct! Still accidents happen though. On Dutch tv this week there was a Belgian programme where some guys went on a hiking trip through the Ypres area. They talked to a farmer who’s dad was blown up in the 80’s while ploughing the field. He said he was killed instantly. Really tragic.
The colourisation of the Malin’s sunken lane film is fantastic. It brings those Pals back to life.
Hey Sander, how are you? It's great seeing Rob and other UA-camrs. I'd love to visit the Berks Cemetery Extension. Somber, powerful place and it's well maintained. Interesting how the French spelling differs from the spelling in English, but is also very similar. The Christmas Truce memorial monument is amazing too. I agree, it's powerful. Very cool how a lead ball was found too. Whoa! That's neat how a portion of a shell was there too. Cool how there is still wineglass also. It's amazing how much can still be found >100 years after the war ended. What kind of pizza did you have :)? That's cool how you and other UA-camrs had a chill time. I want to read "The Longest Winter". I would like to read the Pacific War trilogy :). Haha great banter between everyone. Looks like a pretty cool house to stay at. Great information and background from Chris. Very helpful info about the Somme and the cemeteries. The drone footage is excellent. So sad how there are so many graves though. Very somber. 60,000...That was hard to process (the number of casualties on the first day). :( I'm heartbroken to hear Horace Iles' sister's letter. I've heard it before, but it breaks my heart each time I hear it. It's tragic that he died so young. I could hear the birds chirping. The bigger cemetery looks so peaceful. Definitely staggering when I think about how it was 100 years before with the fighting. Lots of cool relics. It's awesome how so much was found in 20 minutes. Great photos from Rob. I remember hearing about the farmer from Rob too. Chris gave a lot of great information about the battlefield too. Wow. Incredible to see the artillery piece next to the memorial park. You provided great information also, especially about how many are buried where they were killed. I agree - it's very tragic how many were killed. That's cool that there is a map of the battlefield there too. Nice shots of the craters. Man, the packs are so heavy... Cool video, Sander! Great work again. Have a wonderful weekend.
